Artist's Comments

The dust jacket for a book. For a client through school assignment.

It ended up in a very different place than I had thought, becoming very minimalistic and clean. My earlier piece "Deadlines" was a huge inspiration, and it was great fun to further explore that style and take it to a new level.

Illustrator + InDesign.
Fonts: Century Gothic + Angie's New House.
Time: Basicly all done the night before presentation.

Hmm, interesting. I like clean stuff. I'm not sure if I like that there is one font used on the front and a different on the back. I'm guessing due to readability, or something? I like how the "r" in Sjur and the "g" in Dagestad fits together on the front.
Somehow I feel it looks a little unfinished.. :/

The dictionary comes up with "spine, back of a book". I guess "spine" is the most understandable. Unless there is a picture of a spine somewhere on the cover, that is.

Hmmm.. with my taste I would probably have used the Angie's New House font on the title alone, and Century gothic on the rest.
Aand maybe the angles are giving me a hard time..

WELL, whatev. I just like to flash my opinions..as usual. (perky as they are. )
